Nach einer langen Unterhaltung mit einem Fotografen am Florenzer Flughafen haben Szymon und ich realisiert, dass „Streetstyles of Pitti Uomo“ nicht mehr das gleiche bedeutet, wie noch vor zwei Jahren, als wir den Fortezza da Basso zum ersten Mal besucht haben. Wenn man nach „streetstyles“ zusammen mit „pitti uomo“ googled, findet man Bilder von Sneaker, übergroße T-Shirts und zerrissene Jeans. Aber eigentlich ist die Pitti Uomo genau das nicht. Die Pitti Uomo ist weltbekannt als wichtigste Herrenmodemesse im Bereich klassische Herrenmode. Das bedeutet, es geht um Anzüge, Eleganz, Bescheidenheit, Stoffe und Kombinationen. Es geht nicht um die bekannten Streetstyle Marken oder super extrovertiert sein. Es hat den Schein, dass Magazine wie die GQ, Vogue oder Vanity Fair nur noch Bilder von den Herren und Damen zeigen, die eine bekannte Marke tragen, damit es sich besser verkaufen lässt – das ist schon nervig.

After a long conversation with a photographer at the airport of Florence, Szymon and I realized that „Streetstyles of Pitti Uomo“ has not the same meaning as two years ago, when we’ve visited the Fortezza da Basso for the first time. When you google „streetstyles“ and „pitti uomo“ you guys will find sneakers, oversized t-shirts and ripped jeans. But actually this is not what the Pitti Uomo is about! The Pitti Uomo is about classy menswear, which means it is about suits, elegance, humbleness, fabrics and combinations. It is not about common streetstyle brands and being super extroverted. It seems that magazines like the GQ, Vogue or Vanity Fair only show the styles of men and women which show special and famous brands which sell better – that is pretty annoying.
